Getting an ocean monument to generate

I've used some tools to determine the location of the new 1.8 ocean monuments on the UMS. I checked by going to the coordinates - the guardians are there but no ocean monuments generate.

To guarantee that an ocean monument would generate I propose the region file concerned be deleted. It is r.3.2.mca, and if you look at the top down render of the specific region (http://ums.pixub.com/topdown/tile.3.2.jpg) it's composed of mostly ocean, and doesn't seem to have anything manmade, so I suppose it's safe to delete and regenerate the region - with the ocean monuments.

Another one would generate in r.3.1.mca (http://ums.pixub.com/topdown/tile.3.1.jpg) and likewise have no significant human activity, so this one can be deleted as well.

Should be no problem if nothing is built in the area, like you said.

We have deleted the regions. Now we need volunteers to go to do a flyby of the area (the eastern ocean) in order to regenerate the region, with the chance of being the first to get to see the ocean monuments. :)

If nobody did that already, Calling Dibs :P

Visited r.3.2.mca, and an ocean monument did generate indeed.

Went to the other one (r.3.1) and thankfully one generated there as well despite my initial doubt.

So we now have 2 ocean monuments. Now this should be taken as a very rare find, and I propose not to disturb them (altering in destructive ways such as breaking their blocks).

As for naming them... well, anyone has any ideas? :P

Hmm...what are the exact coordinates of these two ocean monuments? I want to check them out first before thinking of names for them.

Here are some naming suggestions:

  • Palatium refectus (for the one at r.3.2)
  • Colosseo refectus (for the one at r.3.1)
