The Garri Kasparov Line (code: GK) is a newly planned railway line of Redstone Railway Company Central Division, first coined up by ParrotAntics in October 9th, 2018. The main purpose of the station is to serve as regional connector from Eston International to Chessboard Monument. The construction of the line began on October 14th, 2018.

Although construction ended around October 30th, 2018, the line is operational only at 3/4 of it's length, with only 3 operational stations. That move was made due to kimilil's objection to location of terminal station proposed by ParrotAntics, leading to teardown of the fourth section on November 27th, 2018. New sections are about to be built in 2019.

The railway is named after Garri Kasparov, famous Russian chess player and politician, and world chess champion in the 1985-2000.

Emblem Name Type Notes

GK 2 AKAT Pass-through
GK 3 Z3 Memorial Site Pass-through
GK 4 Chessboard Monument Terminus To be redesigned, task given to kimilil.

  • Despite the fact the railway was named after chess champion, names of pass-through stations are related to old computers. ParrotAntics explained this gimmick to remind that Kasparov played several times against computers, including symbolic chess game on May 11th, 1997, when he was defeated by IBM Deep Blue supercomputer, thus marking the first time computer defeated a world chess champion in full match.
  • The name AKAT is derived from the AKAT-1 transistor-based computer, made in 1959 by Jacek Karpiński. This computer was designed to solve differential equations.
  • Z3 Memorial name was chosen to commemorate German relay-based mainframe computer Z3, made in 1941 by Konrad Zuse.
